California Marijuana Control & Legislation Act officially filed for Nov. 2014 ballot

So I read all 35 pages and boy oh boy is this thing on the right track! Where proposition 19 failed this picks up the slack and then some. Prop 19 had the gall to actually place in writing the willingness to hand over civil liberties in the name of legalization. We would have faced some pretty insane challenges if that prop had actually passed. This act is written to not only encourage federal legalization by proposing some standard regulations, that surpass any on the books thus far, as well as protecting basic civil liberties and freedoms. It will be interesting if this passes as it offers two main ways to acquire legal distribution and cultivation on both the medicinal and recreational sides. Very much as prop 215 functions in our state currently, this act will walk hand in hand with it instead of pushing against our system for marijuana. Those of us on the 'street' level will also be protected and awarded but we may see some friction from system of taxes and permits this proposes. If you get a chance to read the act please do so. I, for one, support this particular legislation where as with proposition 19 I was whole heartedly against. The link to the PDF is in the first paragraph of the OC Weekly Cannabis Chronicles article. Please to enjoy!
